Walking Between Worlds
While I don't watch a lot of TV by any means, from time to time I do find myself indulging. The other day while cruising through channels I saw a physician talking and saying, "If you hear voices, have visions and feel you are connecting to aliens—you are obviously schizophrenic." My “little voice” in me immediately began saying "Oh, Barb you are in trouble now!"
If you are like me, you occasionally hear voices (I'm clairaudient), I less frequently have visions but sometimes have a clear image of something that just comes into my head (I'm somewhat clairvoyant although that comes and goes) and I have had the odd alien encounter in my dreams and sometimes through channeling (I don't know what you call that—clairsentient?) And, although I could answer "yes" to the entire doctor's statements—I am definitely not schizophrenic. To top it off, my strongest ability is being clairsentient, or clear knowing—that elusive type of psychic ability where you can't put your finger on how you know something, you just do, it's just suddenly inside you and you know the information came from outside you.
While schizophrenic and bipolar people and manic depressives seem to be outside the normal range of the average person in emotional stability, I wonder if the medical community still has a complete picture on what is happening to many of these people. I have noticed that many of the people who have these illnesses do exhibit some profound psychic abilities, abilities that seem to be opened so wide that they cannot close them. They also seem to be tapping into other dimensional realities that totally flood into this reality and once again seem unable to close those doors between dimensions. It's no wonder that many of these people seem out of control from normal parameters. Manic depressives and others may also be tapping into earth energies or galactic energies that either stimulate them creating the manic high or bringing them down.
I'm not trying to insinuate that those suffering "mental illness" not seek traditional treatment or medication; I believe it is important that they do so. In order to make a life in the 21st century it is critical to be centered and balanced. Obtaining proper treatment plays an important role for each of us. But I do think that it might make sense for us to look at a deeper understanding of these symptoms as a society and to look at psychic development as an asset instead of with fear and stigma. In ages past, psychic and even those we now classify as mentally ill were often given special privileges and might be treated as shamans in many societies—for they could walk between both worlds.
I have also seen people who have tried to push or force their spiritual development too fast and who have suffered the consequences, let alone all of those who are simply born turned on, but at a very far out pace from the norm. Yes, I too can become scared when something that I have asked for suddenly appears. Like when I read about Mr. A in Ruth Montgomery's bookBorn to Heal, and asked if I could one day heal with my hands. About 6 months later I discovered I could do just that. I was pleased and amazed at my "new" ability, but also a little frightened at first. And I am still in awe when I am able to assist someone in healing—especially the dramatic cases. There is no doubt that the source of the healing is beyond me and only through The Creator-God I AM. As I venture and explore the delights of the psychic realm, I ask and am grateful that my abilities continue to unfold, yet unfold gently and in a natural manner according to my path.
As I continue to stretch myself and walk between worlds I am convinced that we are born to grow and develop throughout our entire lives if we allow ourselves to. At the age of 48 I discovered I could channel and I am interested in finding out what more I will be able to do, or what my perspective will be at 80. My point is not what I can do, it's what can you do? What are you drawn to do or try? Once your unfoldment begins it is a beautiful and wondrous process. I walk between and in many worlds—I hope to greet you on the path in one of them! Namaste.
