The Yellow Brick Road
While looking at a series of crop circle pictograms the other night, I realized I have visited these diagrams before. I visited them not only in the pictograms, but oddly enough, I’ve seen them and was intimately involved with them, with one of my favorite movies: “The Wizard of Oz.”
It all begins for me when Dorothy starts to put her ruby slippers along the Yellow Brick Road. As her feet start, step by step on this mysterious path that leads her round and round, spiraling outward, ever and larger, out towards the unknown but exciting trip that becomes her life in the Land of Oz. Well I don’t know about you, but this trip actually has a lot of parallels to the type of life that I am living as an awakened Lightworker.
I start each day at the center of my being and I place a few steps carefully as I start my day, spiraling out and around, and around, and out down my most beautiful path. Along this path I quite often come upon “good witches”, all kinds of people and yes, upon occasion a darker witch or two. I don’t think I’ve come upon a bad witch with a house atop her – as of yet -, but amazingly my life has had many similar parallels to this wondrous movie.
I have danced through parts of my life, sang joyous interludes. I’ve been in groups of wild dastardly monkeys who transported themselves all over the world (some might call that a corporate workplace). I’ve had “apples” thrown at me and spiritual as I am, I have to confess, that I have cast a few “apples” back. I’ve found wonderful friends and companions along the way in the form of animal friends. I’ve known people who thought they weren’t smart enough, proven to be brilliant, met people who didn’t think they had enough heart, who were entirely loving and beheld those who questioned their courage who ended up as lions of strength. I’ve met wizards, been kept in places where it felt like it was against my will (oh yes, the work place again) – although we all know that what ever happens we actually agree to on a higher level. I’ve taken on outrageous projects and slept away hours of my life in the blissful poppy fields of life. I’ve received messages that seemed to be written from the air, been transported if not in a helium balloon like the wizard, certainly in airplanes, and in meditations.
No wonder I enjoy this move so much, as do countless others. What led me to comment today about these parallels, is that long ago, I was shown and asked to speak about finding your golden path. Not just any path, but a golden path. And there is Frank Baum, showing us a golden path that Dorothy follows, in an ever spiraling outward adventure of life. Happily there is a good ending for Dorothy and a return trip home to her “true home”, where she learns that she could have returned at any time of her choosing very simply.
Believe: “There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home, there’s no place like home.” And I am there, connected to my spiritual home.
As you follow your yellow brick road
and continue this wonderful adventure of life,
let us marvel at the sights and experiences and
connections we make, knowing that we are
always at home and journeying to
home on our golden yellow brick road.
