Messages from your Guides

I met a man recently who shared an event in his life that affected me strongly. As we sat down to review what he wanted to cover in a session together, he stopped me saying, “First let me show you something.” I watched as he took out a piece of paper and unfolded it from his pocket. On the top of the paper was a water color of a landscape scene, on the bottom of the page was a snapshot of the same scene. They were mirror images of one another. I didn’t realize the impact of the pictures until the man explained how each had come about. The top one was actually a photocopy of a landscape he had painted when he was about 14. He said he created the water color those many years ago,(he is now retired),when a teacher suggested that students paint a landscape from their imagination. So he pulled the image from his mind and artistic ability; then moved on with his life, totally forgetting about his artwork.
It was many years later, in 2004 when he moved to a new area of the country looking for some property where he would retire. As he visited one such property, he knew immediately that that piece of land had to be his, and within a short time it was. It wasn’t until later while unpacking boxes from the move that he came upon the old watercolor. He was shocked, for he had completely forgotten the painting done so long ago. It was an exact rendition of his new property, the home on the land, the driveways, the contours of the land, even the trees were exactly like they were today down to the branch structure of the large trees. He ran outside and took a photograph of the area from the vantage of the original painting and they matched exactly! Obviously he had picked the right piece of property. But how did he do this – drawing a piece of land that he would not move to for about 50 years, to a place he had never seen before?
I had a similar type of experience, yet quite as dramatic while looking for my current house. When I decided to move I felt very drawn to look at a very expensive, upscale community in Nashville. As I looked at images on the internet, I kept looking for a large white house with pillars, a long gravel driveway and exquisitely manicured lawns. I couldn’t get this image from my mind. And it wasn’t as if I even wanted a large house, it was that I was drawn to this image that was somehow imprinted in me. I quickly realized that there was no way that I could afford such a property. Even so I couldn’t pull myself away. For about a month I continued this futile search for the big white house with the pillars. Knowing that I didn’t have the financial means to afford any of the homes in this area, I finally gave up the search for the large one, and soon I found my current wonderful smaller home that Spirit led me to. When I moved into the new home, many aspects of the new life began to come together once. New friends, experiences and adventures began to fill my life as gifts from Spirit.
While my life was growing with the new, I was still releasing the old (enabling the new to come in). One of the old things to go was my job in the insurance industry where I was very successful, yet also under tremendous stress each day. Then suddenly my job was gone, and I was at a loss of what to do. At first I thought I was going to take some time off to rest and heal, but I immediately networked into a part time position, in administrative work that was very different from my prior career. This job simply fell into my lap. As I was driving to the interview, I heard within myself “this job is yours if you want it.” Then I turned down the drive. In the same neighborhood where I had spent almost every day several months prior looking for a home, there it was – the big white house, with gravel drive and beautiful manicured lawns. I paused and held my breath in the driveway, knowing before I even spoke to anyone in the house, that the position was mine if I wanted it. My guides were watching over me every moment, implanting within me the seedlings of my path. And low and behold, I did recognize them, even though most times I didn’t consciously know them as I walked by on my journey.
These types of experiences happen to all of us throughout our lives. Most such “coincidences” are not as dramatic as the examples above, but they are reminders that we are watched over and protected during our lives, and our hidden spiritual helpers are offering guidance and assistance as we make the journey throughout our lives. The coincidences of life are showing you that you are on the right track, that you are never alone or abandoned, and that loving Guides and Angels are with you every step of the way. So let’s listen and watch for our spiritual helpers.
We thank our Guides and Angels for walking along with us,
for straightening our path,
and for providing wonderful surprises and strength,
as we recognize our journey toward God.
