Sacred Bali: A Gift
In October of 2005, I received a psychic reading from a fascinating walk in by the name of Juelle. It had been 2 years since I last spoke with her and when I heard she was coming back to Nashville, I decided to get another reading. We spoke of many things, discussing a current romance, finances and the like. As the reading progressed, Juelle became focused on the area of travel – which if you know me is not that profound of an insight into my life. But Juelle persisted and asked me if I knew about a country called Bali, because she saw me taking an important spiritual trip there.
Well, she went on and on, describing things she saw, even describing the artisan area where I would stay. When the hour was over I thanked her – then really thought to myself “that was XXX dollars wasted…Me – travel to Bali!” At that time, I had absolutely no interest or consideration for Bali in my life, and I remember saying to spirit “If you want me to go to Bali, you will have to drop this trip in my lap, because I am not going to do one thing to make it happen.” And I let the whole idea go.
Later in November I went to an excellent crop circle conference in Tempe AZ hosted by crop circle researchers and enthusiasts Chet Snow and his wife Kallista. By day four of the conference, I was filled to the brim with images and theories about crop circles. Sacred Geometry forms were scribbled throughout the margins of my notes, along with diagrams of circle patterns and the like. Then on the last day, in the last ten minutes of the conference, I was standing in line to have Michael Glickman (noted crop circle researcher) sign his book. A woman I had not seen during the conference came running up to me in the book signing line, and she asked if she could cut in line before me, as she was late for catching her plane. Since I had five hours or so until my flight, it wasn’t a problem to let her in front of me. We did have time to briefly chat, and we discovered that I had some crop circle contacts to share with her. But as she was out of time, we agreed to reach one another after the conference the following week.
About four days later I got a call from the woman and on my answering machine she let a message that said “I’m not asking anyone else this, and I’m not sure why I am asking you, but I just arranged to take a private sacred sites tour of Bali and would you be interested in going with me?” Well, I couldn’t believe this message at first and I played it back several times before calling her back. Maybe she didn’t know why she was calling me to tour Bali with her, but I sure did! My guides can send fairly strong messages if there is something they really would like me to do or take a look at participating in!!! So here was my trip to Bali, handed to me on a silver platter. They gave me a guide who was both American but who lived in Bali half the year, an almost private sacred site tour that included meeting with master teachers. They included travel arrangements that were completely set up by the guide. All I had to do was talk to the consolidator to arrange my airline tickets, send a check and call my pet sitter to watch my animals. Spirit had delivered my trip and all I had to say way yes – so I did.
And thus I soon found myself in the spiritual and sacred country of Bali. Getting off the plane in Denpasar I was hit with the intensely hot humid air, which feels so wonderful to me. I’m one of those Nashvillians who adore this type of hot weather that is just slightly less hot than a sauna. Immediately I could feel a relaxation of my solar plexus and a wonderful centeredness came to my body. I breathed deeply and was completely at peace. Just like Juelle had predicted, we headed off to Ubud, which is towards the center of Bali and is a community of artists. The main streets of Ubud form a circle, and then off the circle, roads like the spokes of a wheel go out from the main area. On each “spoke” a different type of artisan group is represented. There are streets for wood carvers, bone carvers, silver jewelry artists, painters, glass artisans, bamboo and weavers. Mixed among all this are excellent restaurants, money changers, massage and reflexology therapists and the like – all with an interesting personal flair.
Many wonderful experiences happenned to me in Bali and the unfoldment of them only assured me that spirit was taking me by the hand during this trip. It also has made me understand even more that this is how our lives actually work when we allow spirit to direct us. We are never left behind or stranded even though life sometimes feels this way. We just need to learn, as Hans Christian King has a way of saying “to get out of our way.” Oh, the lady who connected me to Bali only stayed for about three days on the tour, showing me that this was a very special trip that spirit had planned for me. And Juelle was right about the romance (it didn’t last) and just about everything else that she told me in my reading!
I would like to encourage everyone to ask of Spirit what it is yours to do, then listen, and allow yourself to receive your own special gift(s). May the blessing transform and enrich you!
